Crowns

At Nuvo Dental, we offer natural-looking dental crowns that can repair and protect damaged or decayed teeth. A tooth crown acts as a cap, covering the natural tooth to restore its function, repair its structure, and prevent further damage.

When might a crown be necessary?

A dental crown may be recommended if you have a heavily filled, broken, or cracked tooth that requires repair. It is commonly used to address extensive decay, tooth injury or trauma. Additionally, dental crowns can be combined with other treatments like root canal therapy, bridges, or large fillings to ensure complete tooth restoration. In some cases, crowns can even address minor issues such as chips, gaps, or discolouration.

What materials are used for crowns?

Traditionally, dental crowns were made of precious metals like gold. However, modern crowns are typically made of non-precious metals, precious metals, or ceramics. Ceramic crowns provide a more realistic match to the natural colour of your teeth, resulting in a subtle and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

What does the treatment involve?

The process of receiving a tooth crown usually requires two or more appointments. During the first appointment, we will prepare the affected tooth by reshaping it and taking digital scans, which will be sent to a dental laboratory to fabricate the crown.

Once the crown is ready, you will return to Nuvo Dental for the fitting. We will ensure the bite and fit are accurate before cementing the tooth crown into place. By the end of the appointment, you will have a fully functional tooth and a confident smile once again.

With our dental crowns, you can achieve a natural-looking restoration that enhances the appearance and functionality of your teeth while providing long-lasting protection against further damage.
